Submit to TSS

We are seeking articles that offer fresh perspectives into innovative and intriguing concepts and phenomena. All disciplines are welcome, be it STEM or humanities. Regardless of your passions, your voice has a place here!

Our Summer 2026 publication cycle is now open and seeking submissions through July 15th.

Requirements

  • Submissions should explore an intriguing topic, research advancement, or scientific (or interdisciplinary) phenomenon.

  • Research papers must be no longer than 4000 words; articles cannot exceed 2000 words.

  • Include a bibliography with all cited sources. Sources MUST be referenced throughout your article as evidence for your statements. You may use footnotes or parenthetical citations.

  • AI usage in any part of your submission will result in an instant rejection.

Selection Criteria

Our editorial committee reviews submissions in three rounds, guided by the following criteria. We strongly suggest that you familiarize yourself with our criteria.

1. Depth of insight- References are thoughtfully integrated and analyzed; a deep understanding of the topic is evident. Full scores for this point shown excellent research. 

2. Engagement- Presents ideas in a compelling, original, and engaging manner. The writing should capture and maintain the reader’s interest throughout.

3. Clarity- To receive a full score for clarity, the article should be excellent & highly readable. No structural or grammar issues should be present, and the article flows smoothly.

Frequently Asked Questions

Can only American high school students submit?

Everyone is welcome to submit! TSS is proud to boast a diverse authorship made up of students of all ages from all corners of the world.

What works do you publish?
We publish formal research papers, articles, as well as tutorials. View specific requirements for each type of work in our submission form!

Do you only accept STEM-related submissions?

Nope! We accept submissions from all disciplines, not just STEM. 

When will I hear back from you?
While our submission form is open year-round, we offer two publication cycles. If you submit between August and December, you will be published in our winter cycle and notified of your selection during February. If you submit between January and July, you will be published in our summer cycle and notified during September.


What are your selection rates?
Traditionally, about 10% of received submissions are ultimately published. Works are selected based on how well they adhere to our judging criteria. However, don't let this number frighten you - our editorial committee is trying to publish as many submissions as we can!
